My Sex Life
Why have I decided to give my to-be-published book such a
provocative title: My Sex Life? Because,
growing up in Pakistan, and later moving to the US I have realized that unlike
men, women’s lives, to a large extent, are associated with their
sexuality. That in this male-dominated
world a woman is considered more of a sexual-being than a human being. My experiences in life too had, almost
always, something to do with sex, especially the experiences that involved
working or associating with a man. Yes,
it is a provocative title of a book written by a Desi woman. Yes, in South Asia people will raise eyebrows
on this title. Yes, my family members
will be embarrassed by it. Even with all
these Yeses I still have to be honest and give a name to the book, it rightfully
deserves.
